About Me

Hello!

My name is Jacob Traum, and I’ve been running online TTRPGs for over a decade. Being a major fan of the Star Wars franchise from a young age, the first game I ran, at the age of 12, was Wizards of the Coast’s Star Wars Saga Edition Roleplaying Game. Though my first handful of sessions were hosted in person, a friend group full of difficult housing situations presented logistical difficulties to meeting in person regularly. After a couple of years of trying and failing to arrange a regular meeting time, sneaking in games whenever the stars would align, a solution was presented to me in the form of Discord.

We started with a voice call and our imaginations, and added more and more tools over the years to make it run ever-smoother! I’ve run a game (or more) a week for the last decade with very little variation, racking up thousands of hours of experience as a game designer and storyteller. I’ve never been satisfied with sticking with familiar creative roads for too long, so I’m always exploring new systems, new genres, and new mediums to better facilitate shared stories with my friends and clients.

I live in Boulder, and when I’m not working I’m usually spending my time developing TTRPG game systems and homebrew content, worldbuilding deeper details for my campaigns, playing video games (especially, though not exclusively, of the RPG variety), and generally doing what I can to enrich my community.
